Your cat is not fine. They are just quiet about it.
We say this with love, because we are cat people too.
The idea that cats are self-sufficient, that they barely notice you are gone, that a full bowl of food is basically the same thing as company. It is a story we tell ourselves because it is convenient. But if you have ever come home to a cat who was cold toward you for three days, or found them in a spot they never usually sit, or noticed their eating had changed while you were away, you already know the truth.
Cats bond deeply. They just do not make noise about it.
What stress looks like in a cat
Unlike dogs, cats tend to hide their discomfort rather than display it. The signs are subtle and easy to miss if you do not know what to look for.
Changed eating patterns, spending more time hidden, over-grooming, or unusual litter box behaviour are all ways a cat communicates that something in their world has shifted. A professional sitter who visits daily knows what normal looks like for your cat and can spot when something is off.
“Our Birdie absolutely adores Amanda. Her orientation process and communication is top notch.” — Robert Gregnol
What every visit actually includes
A bowl refill and a quick litter scoop is the minimum. That is not what we do.
Every cat visit includes real time spent with your animal. We sit on the floor if that is what it takes. We let them approach on their terms. We brush them if they like it, play with them if they want to, and simply keep them company if that is all they need that day.
We also watch. Eating habits, water intake, litter output, coat condition, energy levels. Our sitters document what they observe and flag anything that catches their attention before you even think to ask.
“Don’t think twice! Call Amanda and hire Limitless Pet & Home Care for the best care your pet will receive!” — Naseem M.
For cats who need medical care
Many of the cats we care for in Ottawa are managing thyroid conditions, kidney disease, or diabetes. Medications need to be given at the right time, in the right form, every single day.
Professional in-home care means those medications happen on schedule, with documentation you can review. This is not a favour someone does for you. It is proper medical care delivered by people who know what they are doing.
“She was very thorough in her onboarding questionnaire and we felt like she was totally equipped for any scenario while we were away.” — Ellie Sheppard
Multi-cat households have their own dynamics
Cats that coexist peacefully when their person is home can show tension or stress when the household dynamic shifts. A sitter who understands feline social behaviour can read those early signs and manage the environment accordingly.
We ask detailed questions about your cats’ relationship before we ever visit alone. What works between them, what the triggers are, and how to keep the peace.
Find the right sitter before you need one urgently
Spring travel season is building right now. Summer is not far behind. The best time to find a sitter your cat genuinely likes is when you have time to do a proper meet and greet, not three days before you leave.
