Our Policies

At LP&HC, we take your privacy very seriously. To ensure that you understand how we collect, use, communicate, and disclose personal information, we have developed this Policy. Here are some of the key points to keep in mind:

  • We always identify the purposes for which we collect personal information before collecting it.
  • We only collect and use personal information for the purposes we have specified, unless we obtain consent or as required by law.
  • We only retain personal information for as long as we need it to fulfill the specified purposes.
  • We collect personal information in fair and lawful ways, with the knowledge or consent of the individual concerned.
  • We ensure that personal data is relevant, accurate, complete, and up-to-date for the purposes for which it is used.
  • We protect personal information with reasonable security safeguards against loss, theft, unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification.
  • We offer our customers information about our policies and practices relating to the management of personal information.
  • We never disclose the dates or nature of your travel or relationship with our company without your written permission.
  • While we may use photos/videos of your pets in your home or within your community on social media, our website, and marketing materials, we will not disclose any of your personal information without your prior consent, except for the pet’s name.

We are committed to following these principles to ensure that your personal information remains confidential, protected, and maintained.

To ensure things run smoothly, we require an initial consultation (Meet & Greet) before the first service visit. The consultation costs $25 and is a chance for everyone to meet, get to know each other, and ensure that the pet sitter is a good fit for the pets and their owner. After that, you decide if you’d like to meet any other sitters outside of your primary and secondary or if you don’t mind us sending replacements in the future.

Your reservation is only confirmed when you have received a confirmation by in-app message, email, or approval of the request via app and the deposit is paid.

Clients may make a reservation request through our web portal or mobile app.

Messages left via email, voicemail or text to the business line are not considered confirmations.

Cancellations made with 72-24 hours’ notice:

  • Will result in the forfeiture of the initial 50% deposit of the total service fee.

Cancellations made with less than 24hours’ notice:

  • The entire service fee is non-refundable.

During the holidays:

  • Cancellations made 14 days or more in advance will receive a 50% deposit credit
  • 7-13 days in advance will receive a 25% deposit credit
  • 6 or less days in advance will receive no deposit credit

*Winter & Summer weather cancellation policies differ. Please see the Winter & Summer weather policy for details.

Pet Sitting services: To secure a booking for pet care an initial 50% deposit of the invoice must be paid within 5 days upon confirmation of the booking. The remaining 50% of the service fee, shall be due and payable a maximum of 5 days before the scheduled start date of the pet care services.

Non-payment/failure to pay: with the stated payment terms may lead to the automatic cancellation of the booking and an automatic forfeit of your deposit.

Holiday Period Deposit: We require a non-refundable 100% deposit two weeks before the onset of any holiday service. This includes any service scheduled over the week preceding or following the holiday.

When your pets are in our care, we want to ensure their safety and well-being at all times. If someone unexpected is found in your home during our visit, we will leave and not issue a refund for our services. 

We don’t allow shared responsibility for your pet’s care as this can lead to errors and an unsafe environment. You’re welcome to continue using other home services as long as we’re informed of their schedules and they don’t require entry from us.

Limitless Pet & Home Care takes care of your pets with professionalism and responsibility, even during Federal Holidays. Please note that a surcharge of $20 will be applied for each visit performed on the actual holiday. The company also observes all Federal Holidays and provides deposit and cancellation details for holiday visits.

Determining Extreme Weather

We use reliable weather providers and follow Health Canada standards to assess dangerous conditions. Specific criteria include:

  • Temperatures below -30°C for over 2 hours
  • More than 15cm of snow in 12 hours
  • Any amount of freezing rain
  • High winds or combinations of these conditions

Communication and Scheduling

  • Clients are notified by in-app message/email before midnight if delays are expected
  • Additional notices are sent for delays exceeding 2 hours
  • Clients are asked to inform the company of work-from-home plans or cancellations

Walk Adjustments

  • No walks during frost bite warnings; dogs are taken out for 5-minute relief breaks
  • Walks may be shortened below -20°C for large winter breeds or those with winter gear
  • Walks may be shortened below -15°C for small dogs
  • Staff can use discretion to shorten walks in extreme conditions
  • Remaining time from shortened walks is spent indoors with mental stimulation activities

Cancellation Policy

  • Same-day cancellations made by email or text to the business line before 9:00am due to extreme weather receive account credit
  • Cancellations made by email or text to the business line after 9:00am are not eligible for credit

Limitless Pet & Home Care takes your privacy very seriously and will not disclose any of your information to third parties, nor share any details about your relationship with us without your written permission. We use photos of your pets in your home, or in your community on our social media, website, and marketing materials, but will not disclose any of your personal information unless asked for prior permission.

We work with pet sitters of all abilities. To ensure the safety of our sitters, pet owners are responsible for clearing their home’s walkways, steps, and porch. If a snowstorm occurs while a client is away, we will contract services to clear the walkway, and the fee will be added to the client’s final invoice.

Pet owners are solely responsible for free-roaming pets and should pet-proof their homes and properties to ensure their pets’ safety. Limitless Pet & Home Care will not be held liable for any illness, injury, loss, or death that may occur due to unsecured free-roaming pets. It is the pet owners responsibility to inspect fences, gates, latches, doors, and other devices meant to keep the pet inside or away from any “forbidden” areas. Doggy doors should be locked and blocked during the duration of the stay.

There will be a $20 per hour delivery fee, plus the cost of the required item(s) if we need to pick-up supplies for your pet. We kindly ask you to ensure that your pet has enough food, litter, leashes, etc. to meet their needs throughout our visit. A minimum of 1 hour will be charged.

We care for your pet and your peace of mind.

To ensure safety for both you and your sitter, we recommend the use of a lockbox, hide-a-key, or entry code for access. Rest assured that all entry codes are kept secure and Limitless Pet & Home Care does NOT keep any keys.

Last-minute services can be requested by all pet parents who have a profile and e-signed agreement on file. This is subject to availability and a non-refundable last-minute service fee of $15 will be added to the invoice if a request is made with less than seven (7) business days’ notice. We cannot take new clients with less than 2 weeks notice.

We prioritize the safety and privacy of our staff by prohibiting video streaming devices in private areas such as bedrooms and bathrooms.

Determining Extreme Weather
The company uses a weather monitoring provider and follows Health Canada standards to identify dangerous conditions, including:

  • Temperatures above 31°C or humidex exceeding 40°C
  • Thunderstorms with wind gusts above 90km/hr
  • Hail 2cm or larger in diameter
  • 50mm or more rain within 1 hour

Communication and Scheduling

  • Clients are notified by email before midnight the day before expected extreme weather
  • Clients are asked to inform the company if they plan to work from home or cancel walks
  • Additional notices are sent if walks or check-ins will be more than 2 hours late

Summer Heat Protocols
Walking Dogs:

  • Prioritize grass and shaded areas
  • Refill water bowls after each walk
  • Walks may be shortened if no safe, cool route is available

Heat Warnings:

  • No regular walks during heat warnings
  • Brief 5-minute outings for dogs to relieve themselves
  • Remaining scheduled time spent indoors with mental stimulation activities

Cancellation Policy

  • Walks are not automatically cancelled due to weather
  • Clients must provide written notice to cancel
  • Same-day cancellations before 10:00am due to extreme weather receive account credit
  • No credit for cancellations after 10:00am
